Sept. 29, 2008 - The "Spanish Tourists" Jam

Bluegrass and Beyonders:

Vagaries in the calendar, plus what I would interpret as divine approval of our new jam, have given us another jam this Monday, October 6th - 7:30 @ Paddy Reilly's (SW corner of 2nd and 29th).

Please note that our co-leader, Banjo Bill has requested that people have less fun next week, so that he won't be staying until 12:30 again.

I was trying to remember who it was that was twisting his arm to stay, and it certainly wasn't my doing that people were dancing in the aisles at midnight (although any jam that has "Will It Go 'Round In Circles", followed by "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" has my enthusiastic approval...).

As least a bullfight didn't break out with all those Spanish tourists present - then Bill would've really had a complaint!

A final bit of gossip, Mike "Earl Scruggs / Tom Adams, Jr." has had his first lesson with eclectic banjo master Tony Trischka and is working on "Hotel California" and Louie Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World" - be forewarned. That's what I call getting into the spirit of "Bluegrass + Beyond".

Also, note that the next slow jam (different from our advanced jam) will be the following Monday, the 13th.

See you next week at 7:30.
