Dec. 15, 2008 - The Holiday Jam

Fellow B + B ers:

Before everyone high tails it to the North Pole, South Pole and points in between, I just wanted to thank everyone who brought stuff to the holiday jam - including fresh baked cookies, dip trays, Shaker boxes full of pastries (and yes, holiday colored Kisses).

Thanks to AJ for his ( soon to be classic) Christmas song and to the surprise of the night (no, not my Banana Boat Carol...), but the great warm-up featuring normally mild-mannered Laura's rousing version of "All Right Now" by Free. Who'd have thought it!

Of course co-host Bill's "Jumpin' Jack Flash" tagged on the end made for quite a jump start to the holiday session - not quite the way Burl Ives would have done it.

I think the hard rock warm-up should become a tradition at bluegrass jams - let's get back to roots... where would the Father of Bluegrass be without Elvis and his "Blue Moon"?

Anywho, we've got jams coming up Monday, December 29th and January 5th.

Of course, we don't expect anyone to be there because of the holidays, but Bill, Sarah, AJ and I will at least be there and we'll bring the left-over goodies from the holiday jam with us - so come and join us if you're around.

Who knows, a Hendrix / Queen warm-up? I'm sure Scotty could do it...

Have a great holiday,
