Mar. 2, 2009 Jam

How Dee, fellow B + B ers:

It's time again... the Bluegrass + Beyond jam happens this coming Monday, March 16th, 7:30 at Paddy Reilly's Pub (SW corner of 2nd and 29th).

For those of you who braved the snowstorm (and I use the word loosely - for in N.H. where I spent many years, we'd call it a dusting; of course, we also voted for Reagan and Bush) - it was a good jam.

It included again, Brooklyn Dave on bass and introduced Mr. T(ony) - the leader of Paddy's Sunday jam. He undoubtedly set his watch ahead 24 hours for Daylight Savings Time by mistake, probably missing his own jam in the process. But it was fun to have him - albeit in a slightly confused state.

This week's jam occurring on St. Patrick's Day Eve, some of you may be inclined to just spend the night after the jam. Be advised no camping will be permitted until after 2am, and no tents bigger than 6x6 - in the back room only. No pets allowed.

Seriously, we may have a few extra people at the bar, so let's lean towards some rockin'  familiar tunes or, heaven forbid, some Irish sounding fiddle tunes (I'll take a Corona break, or maybe even get a Guiness - ah, the things I do for Ireland). Save the death and dying songs for next time! Repeat after me, no D + D at B + B...

Co-host Bill's Elvis impersonation will fit right in, and California, if you're coming - words and chords to Amie.

Chris and Mark were recently spied in a rare public appearance - who knows, perhaps this'll be the week for us - who can ever get enough of Wayne Hancock? Whatever a Wayne Hancock is...

For those of you visionary, forward-thinking types, you will have undoubtedly noticed that this month we have a bonus 5th Monday, to be immediately followed by a 1st Monday. A doubleheader!

Take that Ms. "Slow Jam" Sue. It's like our version of a Blue Moon, or a Leap Year, or finding a crumpled up $20 bill in an old shirt pocket.

See you soon (I'm going to check through my shirt pockets...), Dave (and Banjo Bill).
