Use this board for any general jam comments, song info, observations or queries (and praise for hosts...).

The link to the board will be in the Links section of the blog.

In case you're unfamiliar with how to post a comment, click the "Post A Comment" link at the bottom of a post or comment, type your comment into the box, and sign it by clicking on "Name / URL" under "Choose An Identity", entering your first name only after "Name" (nothing after URL) - "Preview" it, then hit "Publish Your Comment". Don't forget the word verification at the end of the process.

Bill and I will also be posting here on a semi-regular basis. A J on an irregular basis.

Nice to see the new general discussion board!

Its hard to believe its already time for another B&B holiday jam. Last year's holiday jam will be a tough act to follow...Highlights for me were leading the traditional holiday favorite Jumpin' Jack Flash, and of course co-host AJ's original "Christmas Song" and co-host Dave's "Banana Boat Carol." (Actually the real highlight was getting to play the guitar riff on Free's "Allright Now" to accompany Laura's vocals...Hint to Laura- Try to make the holiday jam again this year. Let's make "Allright Now" a B&B holiday tradition, along the lines of the Channel 11 Yule Log and holiday fruitcakes!!)

I was sorry to see that the one B&B jam I miss included Karen doing "Little Birdie". Ralph Stanley's "Little Birdie"??? Karen-- I know you like to keep coming up with fresh material, but I have a special request- would you repeat Little Birdie in the near future? That could be my clawhammer banjo exercise for the night.

I'm going to be there early this week, mainly schmoozimg early on while AJ handles the co-hosting duties, and then I'll be getting serious with the co-hosting duties myself later in the evening. Should be a good time!

Hello, and a B & B idea:

How about we post info about tunes, especially "beyond" tunes, we intend to lead at the next B & B jam? This would give folks the chance to listen on YouTube, or elsewhere, before the jam.

I'll kick it off:

Scott / "Heaven" / Brian Adams / transposing to Key of F

Scott Samuels

Co-host Bill and I took apart our banjos completely recently - and even managed to re-assemble them after cleaning and setting up!

Sarah photographed the proceedings.

Check it out over on the Bluegrass & Beyond website under "Photos" - "Bill and Dave's Banjo Breakdowns (2 parts)".

Just posted Mary and Sarah's new photos of the 2nd Ave. Mtn. Boys concert, along with Mary's earlier B & B jam photos over on the web site.

Also, AJ has a sample from his recent recording sessions - "Postcards From Amsterdam" in the "Music Sample" section of the web site. You'll have to wait to hear the rest.
